Adonis Bath Adonis baths is a two level waterfall, a beautiful little paradise which is well worth visiting. This is where Adonis the lover of Aphrodite used to bathe, according to Greek mythology. Here you will have the opportunity to jump, swim and swing from a rope into the refreshing lagoon.  
Aphrodite’s Rock (Petra tou Romiou) On the south coast of the island, on one of the most beautiful beaches, lies “Petra tou Romiou” as it’s known in Cyprus, the location where Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love, was said to have emerged from the sea. Aphrodite’s Rock is a massive chunk of stone that marks the spot; her birthplace was a place of pilgrimage for the entire Hellenic world.  
 
Paphos Castle Paphos Castle was originally built as a Byzantine fort to protect its famous picturesque harbour, in the 13th century it was rebuilt by the Lusignans and then dismantled by the Venetians in 1570, who were unable to defend it against the Ottomans, who then restored and strengthened it after capturing the island. Since 1935 it has been declared an ancient monument and is now considered as one of the hallmarks of the Paphos region.
Kato Pafos Archaeological Park The inclusion of the Kato Pafos archaeological site in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in 1980 was the starting point for the creation of General Plan whose aim would be primarily to protect and maintain the archaeological remains. Kato Pafos archaeological Park includes sites and monuments from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages, while most remains date to the Roman period. The marvellous mosaic floors of four Roman villas form the impressive epicentre of the finds, which shows scenes from Greek mythology, dating from the 2nd to the 5th century AD. The complex includes other important monuments, such as the Asklipieion, the Odeon, the Agora (2nd century AD), the destroyed castle “Saranta Kolones” (Forty Columns) Fortress, the “Limeniotissa” Ruins of early Christian Basilica and the “Tombs of the Kings” (date back to the 3th century BC). In the pictures: the marvellous mosaic floor, the Odeon, “Saranta Kolones”.    
Agios Neophytos Monastery ( Andreas’s Baptism Church)   9 km north of Paphos. It was founded at the end of the 12th century by the Cypriot hermit and writer Neophytos. The Egkleistra, an enclosure carved out of the mountain by the hermit, contains some of the finest Byzantine frescoes dating from the 12th to 15th century. In the monastery church which contains some of the most beautiful icons of the Post-Byzantine period of the 16th century is a very interesting ecclesiastical museum.
Akamas Peninsula “Baths of Aphrodite” Akamas Peninsula, near Polis. 48 km north of Paphos. According to legend, the goddess Aphrodite used to take her beauty baths in a pool of a natural grotto, shaded by a fig tree, which can still be visited. Nature trails set off from Akamas to lead nature lovers to incomparable views of unspoiled land.
